Nexthink is the first DEX Platform to Achieve FIPS 140-2 Compliance
BOSTON / LAUSANNE – February 22, 2023: Nexthink, the leader in Digital Employee Experience (DEX) management software, today announced Nexthink Experience has achieved compliance with the Federal Information Processing Standard 140-2 (FIPS 140-2) security certification from the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Cryptographic Module Validation Program.
The FIPS 140-2 standard is a joint effort between NIST in the United States and the Communications Security Establishment Canada (CSEC). The Cryptographic Module Validation Program (CMVP), headed by NIST, provides module and algorithm testing for FIPS 140-2, which applies to Federal agencies using validated cryptographic modules to protect sensitive government data in computer and telecommunication systems. FIPS 140-2 provides third-party assurance of cryptographic modules that have been validated against a set of functional requirements for a product that may be purchased by a government agency. This certification ensures regulated industries such as utilities, finance, healthcare and governmental departments deploying Nexthink can trust their data is protected.
“Nexthink has a long commitment to providing the market with the best solution to securely support, detect and prevent issues before they occur, this capability in the hands of every large organization is a game changer for both employees and IT,” says Vedant Sampath, Chief Technology Officer, Nexthink. “Therefore, it’s a natural next step for our company to receive FIPS 140-2 validation as a part of journey towards our FedRAMP Certification. Nexthink’s committed to meeting and exceeding the stringent and evolving public sector security regulation requirements.”
FIPS 140-2 validation is required by U.S. law when information systems use cryptography to protect sensitive government information. In order to achieve FIPS 140-2 certification, cryptographic modules are subject to rigorous testing by independent Cryptographic and Security Testing Laboratories, accredited by NIST. The validation for Nexthink’s implementation of cryptographic modules (certification #4244) was performed by Corsec Security, Inc., a security certification solutions provider in Herndon, VA.
