Royal Brompton & Harefield NHS Foundation Trust Selects Nexthink to Power Proactive IT Services
The Trust implements Nexthink to get a real-time view of its IT environment, better fulfilling its mission to focus on patient outcomes and becoming a valued business partner
London, May 9, 2018 – Nexthink, a leader in digital employee experience management software for enterprises, today announced that Royal Brompton & Harefield NHS Foundation Trust has implemented Nexthink to transform the end-user IT experience across the organisation. Royal Brompton & Harefield NHS Foundation Trust is the is the largest specialist heart and lung centre in the UK and is also amongst the largest in Europe.
The Trust has identified the opportunity for its IT organisation to transform end-user services with the goal of giving its more than three thousand employees across its two sites access to technology and digital services at any time, from anywhere and via any device. Nexthink enables the organisation to proactively analyse, visualise and act in real-time across all end-user computing data, helping the IT organisation to become a true business enabler and partner.
“Supporting the Trust is challenging as we are dealing with an extremely complex environment. In fact, when we consider all of the PCs, operating systems, versions of browsers and multiplicity of applications we, potentially, had nearly three quarters of a billion permutations,” said Joanna Smith, CIO, Royal Brompton & Harefield NHS Foundation Trust. “This poses a considerable challenge and serious burden for the support team and it was clear that we needed to standardise and simplify our desktop. Nexthink allowed us to do that by providing accurate data on our desktop build.”
With Nexthink, Royal Brompton & Harefield NHS Foundation trust is now able to easily see metrics such as excessively long boot and login times and outliers, as well as issues with the variety of applications that are attached to its network such as models of computers, different versions of web browsers and many other factors which contribute to the overall end-user experience. The ability to have all of this information readily available allows the Trust’s IT organisation to proactively monitor its real estate, solving any problems before they are noticed or reported by end-users.
“Our technology enables CIOs and IT departments to understand the end-user experience in real-time,” said Andrew Smith, Director, UK, Nexthink. This helps IT teams transform their service delivery, by proactively correcting issues which could be affecting end-users, ultimately helping increase employee efficiency and reduce costs.”
