The second half of 2023 is officially in full swing, and with that comes everyone’s favorite topic of conversation: end of year fiscal targets and annual budget reviews. For IT teams, the perennial ask will come down from above: “we need to find $X, what can we cut, where can we find efficiencies and how much can your department save?” You need to figure out how to save money and improve efficiency – and you don’t have much time to do it.
For more than 15 years, Nexthink has been helping customers answer this age-old question by delivering real, measurable value back into the business. In this blog, we’ll take a look at four stories from four customers that illustrate three ways to find value over a short timeline with Nexthink.
Software License Optimization
AB InBev has been with Nexthink since 2019 and each year goes through IT cost optimization exercises. In 2022, the team took a closer look at software license allocation to see if there were any savings to be found.
By leveraging Nexthink, the AB InBev IT team was able to:
- See the adoption and usage statistics for each application
- Diagnose applications where the organization was experiencing electronic waste
- Fix the problem by reclaiming those licenses without employee disruption
In this case, AB InBev was able to save nearly $300,000 per year by reducing unused PowerBI licenses. And many other customers are following suit, saved more than $500,000 per year by conducting a similar exercise.
Software license optimization is arguably the most common example of value realization that you’ll see showcased in the DEX industry. But Nexthink is helping customers work through far more strategic, impactful initiatives as well.
Data Driven Hardware Refresh Cycles
FHI 360 is an international non-profit and was able to save almost $400,000 by conducting a more intelligent and sustainable hardware refresh.
The IT Team used Nexthink to:
- See which devices were performing poorly by running some hardware stress tests
- Diagnose that the root cause of the problem was low core count on many PC’s
- Fix the problem for all affected employees in a more cost-effective manner
Ultimately, while some devices did need to be replaced due to lower core counts and higher performance demand – many other devices could have their life extended with a more cost-effective RAM upgrade, helping FHI 360 save nearly half a million dollars.
Service Desk Efficiency and Windows Migration
A US hospital recently saved $1.7MM through onsite ticket reduction by integrating with ServiceNow and having Nexthink send all telemetry data directly to L1 agents. A German manufacturing company recently saved 1.6MM by leveraging Nexthink to conduct a hardware and software readiness test ahead of their organization-wide Windows migration.
Products are purchased because they deliver value. At Nexthink we believe that value should be able to be realized from inside the product itself, and that the people using it should have the flexibility to implement it quickly, when needed most. With Nexthink, IT Teams can shift the dialogue from “We’re working on it” to “We’ve already solved the problem and are pro-actively monitoring this moving forward”.
The real customer stories you’ve just read do not require extensive custom builds at the hands of system architects. They are available as out-of-the-box tailored packs inside Nexthink’s Library inclusive of dashboards, alerts, engagement campaigns, remote actions, application configurations and more. These Library Packs ensure an initiative can be conducted end-to-end and ultimately help customers provide savings back to their business.
