Nexthink’s ability to integrate with anything has long been one of the most popular aspects of our products. From your ITSM tool to Azure AD, Nexthink data can be connected across your environment – so you can act on Nexthink insights to build the best possible digital employee experience.
Nexthink Flow continues our dedication to integrations by allowing for the sharing of data and actions in both directions for several key integrations. This capability allows you to extend your automations across your environment and integrate into the larger IT ecosystem.
In this article, we’ll explore three key integrations possible using Nexthink Flow and discuss how these integrations can help achieve new use cases and eliminate repetitive tasks for you and your teams.
3 Integrations with Nexthink Flow
For integrations, you can utilize the API Thinklets to bring data into Flow from outside sources and push actions and data out.
Thinklets are the building blocks of Nexthink Flow. They are packages of configuration which control the behavior of the module being used. Each Thinklet performs a specific action and can be easily dragged and dropped into your workflow in the order steps need to be taken.
1. ServiceNow: Create & Escalate Tickets, Trigger Workflows
Connect Nexthink with ServiceNow to securely enable Nexthink Flow to raise or update tickets or trigger your workflows.
For example, let’s say you set up a workflow to check for MECM (SCCM) agent health on all your devices once per week. That workflow with automatically run through all your most common troubleshooting steps and hopefully resolve any MECM issues as they arise.
But in cases where the automated workflow cannot resolve the issues, you can use a ServiceNow API Thinklet to have the workflow automatically create a ticket containing all necessary data, including the troubleshooting steps already taken.
That’s not all. As with all our integrations, data flows both ways, so you can have workflow open, reopen, and escalate tickets as necessary – but you can also have ticket creation in ServiceNow trigger an automated workflow in Nexthink Flow – eliminating the need for L1 agents to manually create one.
2. Azure AD: Execute License Reclamation, Grant User Permissions, & Manage SharePoint
License reclamation is one of the most popular initial projects for our customers because it often leads to quick cost savings. Now with Nexthink Flow, you can automate that entire process – saving money without using engineer time.
Set a workflow to trigger when a user hasn’t used an app for a certain number of days. When this condition is met, Nexthink Flow sends a campaign asking the user if they still need the application. When the user responds “no,” Flow can use an API Thinklet to connect with Azure AD and remove the user from a permission group, then send a quick follow up campaign to confirm the removal with the user. A ticket can also be created to document the license renewal for easier reporting.
This same API Thinklet can be used to grant users permissions and manage SharePoint without any need for manual intervention from your team.
3. Deploy Software with Intune
Finally, automate the deployment of software with Intune using the API Thinklet. Set a workflow to trigger when a user or device does not have the selected software installed. When the workflow runs, it uses an API Thinklet to deploy the software by adding a user or device into an Azure AD group and refreshing policies on the device to accelerate software installation.
You can also leverage this integration to automate device onboarding processes with Nexthink Flow. Build a workflow to check for and deploy all required software for that device’s persona, without needing to manually work on the device or connect with the user.
